Octopus Dashboard
Octopus Dashboard is a private web application used by two people, the operators of a small online shop, to keep track of their own parcels and payments. It is not offered to the public and has no public sign-up.
What the application does
- Parcels. With the owner's permission it reads emails in the owner's own Gmail mailbox that come from the shop's parcel forwarder, extracts tracking numbers, statuses and deadlines, and shows them as parcel cards. The owner can ask it to prepare a reply to the forwarder; a reply is sent only after the owner confirms it.
- Finance. It reads and writes a Google Sheets spreadsheet that the owner designates, which holds card balances, and can post a payment report as a comment on the owner's Trello card.
- Reminders. It sends deadline reminders to the owners through Telegram.
Access
The application itself runs on a private server and is protected by an access gate that admits only the owners' email addresses.
